The Families Information Service
provides impartial, advice and guidance to parents and
prospective parents on all 0-19 local and national services.
The service also provides advice, guidance and information
to children, young people and other professionals.
The
service provides information about
- Childcare provision throughout the County including
registered and unregistered.
- Provision
of a brokerage service to parents who are looking to return to work, education
or training and haven’t been able to find childcare for various reasons.
The Families Information Service will try to meet the families’ childcare
needs where they can.
- Information on Early Education provision including
advice and guidance to parents, prospective parents and
childcare
providers.
- Provision of a Service
Directory website that provides information on a range of services
and activities for children and young people aged 0-20
across
Northamptonshire and nationally www.northamptonshire.childrensservicedirectory.org.uk
- Parent Direct – A free
information and advice service that helps working parents establish
their employment rights.
- Information on availability of financial assistance
and where to go for further advice and information.
- Information on childcare vouchers.
- The
Families Information Service takes part in outreach events
either through giving information, advice and guidance
to organisations and individuals
across Northamptonshire
or informing as many people in Northamptonshire as possible
about the service.
