Internet-linked books
Usborne was the first UK children's publisher to produce ground-breaking Internet-linked books. The Usborne Quicklinks website links readers to recommended websites, enhancing the information in the books with movies, sounds, pronunciation guides, games and quizzes on the Internet. There are now over 400 Usborne Internet-linked books, including atlases, encyclopaedias, language books and dictionaries.
Early Years books
Usborne Early Years books range from bath books to picture books, flashcards to phonics. Beautifully illustrated and wonderfully written, they are adored by pre-school children and continue to win prestigious awards.
Usborne and Reading
Usborne books are ideal supplementary reading for children learning to read. Trusted by teachers and librarians everywhere for impeccable quality, Usborne has something for children at every stage of their literacy development.
The First Reading series includes delightful stories, graded in levels, for children beginning to read independently. The hugely-popular Young Reading series follows on from First Reading and contains a rich mix of fiction and non-fiction titles to excite even the most reluctant reader.
For more confident readers, the critically acclaimed Fabulous Fiction range combines well-known authors such as Terry Deary, Adele Geras and Linda Newbery, with strikingly original new talent.
The subject matter of many Usborne reading books supports key National Curriculum topics.
Usborne non-fiction
The non-fiction list through which Usborne made its name continues to educate children of all ages, whilst making finding out fun. Highly interactive, with bright, colourful illustration, Usborne non-fiction ranges from Romans to dragons, jigsaw books to award-winning activity books, many with Internet links for extra study value.
